Job Summary:
|
The Department of Radiology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Medical Radiography Associate Director. The successful candidate will:
- Manage the daily operations of the diagnostic Imaging Department.
- Mange all administrative, technical and clerical operations of the diagnostic imaging department to ensure quality, access and budget goals are achieved.
- Manage full-service inpatient an outpatient department (7days, 24 hours) which generally include Radiology, MRI, CT, IR, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and Mammography.
- Assist the Imaging Service Director in meeting clinical needs of physicians, staff and members.
- Supports and actively develops a strategy to achieve and integrated service line for diagnostic imaging.
- Manage the daily operations of department by maintaining appropriate schedules (both staff and patient), and monitoring performance improvement, safety, quality and regulatory standards.
- Participate in the planning of major facilities construction/renovation projects to ensure the safe an effective placement of imaging equipment and efficiency of operations.
- Ensure equipment and procedures are safe, functional and capable of meeting the diagnostic needs of the medical Staff in a timely manner.
- Develop and monitor payroll and non-payroll budgets for the department, identifies and implements opportunities to reduce cost.
- Manage supervisors and staff and resolves human resources, labor relations, employee, and department safety issues.
- Select and train technical and administrative imaging staff.
- Monitor staff performance and participates with the Chief and Director in the development of competencies, performance standards, and imaging protocols for the department.
- Develop and implement a plan for equipment procurement, maintenance, and replacement.
- Keep abreast of new developments in diagnostic imaging technology and makes recommendations on the acquisition and implementation of new technology.
- Accountable for adherence to state and federal rules and regulations on safety and quality assurance programs.
- Ensure compliance with The Joint Commission, MQSA, federal, state, local agencies.
- Knowledgeable in RIS/PACS application.

Required Qualifications:
|
- New York State Radiologist License.
- AART registry.
- 5+ years of radiology hospital experience,
- 2+ years administrative management experience in Radiology operations.

Preferred Qualifications:
|
- Master's Degree preferred.
|
Work Schedule:
|
Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm (Full-Time)
