Job Summary:

The Department of Pediatrics at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Community Relations Assistant. The successful candidate will:

  • Work closely with the OBYGYN and Pediatrics practices.
  • Engage with patients to ensure that practice patients are educated and aware of services. 
  • Support practice staff in the implementation of the program.
  • Perform screening and assessment.
  • Provide linkage and oversight of co-located Community Relations Assistants (Community Health Workers) to ensure proper implementation and adherence to institutional practices and procedures.
  • Meet regularly with Brooklyn Perinatal Network (BPN) staff to ensure a closed loop and efficient implementation.
  • Assist in maintaining files and database.
  • Where appropriate, outreach to educate and inform of programming.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2+ years of equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communicator with a willingness to learn and collaborate with others.
  • Strong work ethic.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 9:00am to 5:00pm

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-1

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
