Job Summary:

The Department of Human Resources at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time Learning and Development Personnel Associate. The successful candidate will:

  • Be responsible for assisting in the shaping and executing of the Learning and Development strategy to meet the short and long-term business objectives of the organization.
  • Provide guidance to the learning functions, processes, and practices within the organization, focusing on driving growth and maximizing employee performance.
  • Be responsible for identifying training opportunities, and building and implementing effective solutions to educate, develop and recognize employee performance.
  • Demonstrate a creative and innovative approach to designing and implementing training solutions that meet the unique needs of our employee population.
  • In partnership with organization leadership, develop and implement comprehensive learning and development strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the company's learning and development needs and identify training opportunities to improve employee performance.
  • Develop and implement effective training programs and objectives, including creating training materials and using various media.
  • Coach and train managers, supervisors, and other stakeholders involved in employee development efforts.
  • Conduct follow-up studies of completed training programs to evaluate their effectiveness and make modifications as needed.
  • Lead by example and embody the desired culture and values of the organization.
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the management team and HR staff to ensure consistency and alignment across the organization's functions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and delivering leadership development programs, lifelong learning initiatives, or a related field.
  • Strong project management, and team-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively communicate complex information to various audiences.
  • Experience with learning management systems and e-learning platforms and a strong understanding of the latest trends and technologies in the industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and make data-driven decisions to evaluate program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.
  • Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential.

Work Schedule:

Monday to Friday; 9:00am to 5:00pm (Full-Time)

Salary Grade/Rank:

MP-5

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications

  • $97,000 to $108,000 Base Salary
