Job Summary:

The Department of Psychiatry at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University through affiliation with Kingsboro Psychiatric Center is seeking a full-time Clinical Assistant Professor (HS), Clinical Director/Chief Medical Officer.

Kingsboro Psychiatric Center is part of New York State's Office of Mental Health. Kingsboro is located in the heart of Brooklyn and is an affiliated with the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Health Sciences University. Kingsboro provides a broad clinical expertise to individuals in all stages of psychiatric recovery. Reporting directly to the Executive Director the successful candidate will:

• Oversee a dynamic multidisciplinary team as well as serve in an academic teaching appointment.  
• Serve as Kingsboro’s Director of Inpatient Services involving oversight for the implementation of OMH medical policies and procedures.
• Oversee coordination and participation of medical student and resident educational programs and activities with SUNY Downstate in collaboration with the appropriate SUNY educational staff.
• Demonstrate flexibility as the duties and responsibilities are not limited to the above position description. 

Required Qualifications:

• New York State Medical Doctor Licensure.
• DEA active.
• Graduate of an accredited psychiatry residency program.
• Board Certified in Psychiatry; additional board certifications are accepted.
• 7+ years of related experience; at least 2-years must include supervising physicians and other ancillary staff in a hospital setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Fellowship training a plus.
