Job Summary:

The Department of Pathology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a part-time Assistant Professor (HS) / Forensic Pathologist. The successful candidate will:

  • Educate medical students and residents.
  • Lead a pathology elective for medical students and a required rotation for pathology residents.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Department of Pathology, University Hospital at Downstate and the Office of the City Medical Examiner to serve as a resource for physicians and staff for consultation on forensic autopsy and death certification.

Required Qualifications:

  • New York State Medical License.
  • Medical Doctor Degree.
  • American Board of Pathology Certification in Anatomic Pathology and-Forensic Pathology.
  • 10+ years of experience in Forensic Pathology.
  • Experience in teaching medical students and training residents.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and affiliation with the City of New York Office of the City Medical Examiner.

Variable Days; Variable Hours (Part-Time)
